Onboarding in tijden van COVID
Can you imagine starting a new job during covid times and meeting your colleagues on a walk in the park followed by lunch together at a safe distance? ??
We can! On 19th of April, Econocom organized a ‘Welcome Day Walk’ in the park of Tervuren for all recent new starters. We all put on our walking shoes to enjoy a breath of fresh air together!
I was curious to find out how the other starters experienced the onboarding process and the welcome day walk. Enjoy reading and see you@Econocom!

“In het begin was het ingewikkelder om op afstand te moeten leren omdat je niet direct met de persoon voor je kunt praten, maar ik was klaar om een nieuwe werkvorm of een andere methodiek te ontdekken.
Gelukkig had ik een zeer goede integratie in het team (dat volledig uit vrouwen bestaat!) en in de structuur. Iedereen was er om me te helpen, dus het ging heel goed. Als ik vragen had, voelde ik me niet in verlegenheid gebracht en had ik geen enkele terughoudendheid om ze te stellen. Ik voel me gelukkig en ben heel blij dat ik de kans heb gekregen om een functie bij Econocom te krijgen. »
« I felt a little bit lost in the beginning because it was difficult to start from home.
However, I have very nice colleagues to guide me. I really loved the Welcome day walk because it was really interesting getting to meet all the directors at once at the walk in the park and to discover who is in charge of what. You get a different overview of the company by listening to their experience.
I hope there will come more opportunities like this in the future to get to know all new faces and people who have been working for quite some time at Econocom. »
« Eerst weet je niet goed wie te contacteren maar stilaan komt dat op gang. Je moet zelf initiatief durven nemen.
De ‘Welcome Day Walk’ was echt een schitterend initiatief om mensen eens
op een andere manier te leren kennen dan via Teams. Bij de lunch heb ik mij bewust ook aangesloten bij andere collega’s die ik helemaal niet kende, allemaal nieuwe gezichten. Zulke toffe initiatieven zijn zeker voor herhaling vatbaar en ik heb dat ook al uitgesproken! »
