2023 RESULTS MAKE HEADLINES IN THE BELGIAN MEDIA OUTLET DE TIJD 

In an exclusive interview with Belgian media outlet De Tijd, Econocom CEOs Patrick Van Den Berg and Angel Benguigui Diaz shared their vision and ambitions following the publication of robust financial results. Stressing the complementary nature of their roles and their satisfaction with the current structure, they highlighted the Group’s founder and Chairman, Jean-Louis Bouchard, who plays a key role in terms of his commercial experience and in-depth knowledge of the company.

With turnover of €2.68 billion, significant growth of more than 10% in IT solutions rental and a slight decline of 6% in sales of traditional IT hardware, Patrick Van Den Berg emphasised Econocom’s strong resilience in a global market which is declining by 15%.

The interview also focused on the Group’s audiovisual activities under the Gather brand, with significant opportunities in this sector. Patrick Van den Berg also stressed the importance of providing existing customers with more information about these new offers, opening the door to more than 160 new sales hires. This exclusive interview offers an in-depth look at Econocom’s strategies and ambitions in the light of the new «One Econocom» strategic plan.

The financial and technology media, such as Distributique, Le Monde Informatique and Channel News, gave extensive coverage to the Group’s 2023 results, with articles of a generally positive tone. They emphasise organic growth, demonstrating the robustness of the diversified businesses. The solid performance of the Products & Solutions division, the 11.2% growth in the financing of technology assets, and the increase in sales of services were also praised.

In a recent interview with AV Magazine, Jean-Pierre Overbeek, CEO of BIS | Econocom and director of the new Gather brand, redefined Audiovisual as a Service (AVaaS), highlighting its move away from conventional financial models. The CEO in particular highlights Gather’s preference for an ongoing, partnership-oriented relationship in the audiovisual sector, stressing the operational phase of projects to offer a complete user experience right from the end of the project.

This is the percentage of the Group’s employees who have received ethics training in the past year. Mainly taken online via ad hoc modules, these training courses focus on integrity, respect for the law and professional ethics – all key concerns at Econocom. At ISE 2024 (Integrated Systems Europe, Europe’s largest trade fair dedicated to audiovisual technologies), which was held in Barcelona at the end of January, the Group made its mark with a delegation of over 60 representatives from 8 countries. The event provided Econocom with a concentration of 850 exhibitors: perfect ground for exploring the latest cutting-edge audiovisual innovations. The article, published in Le Parisien / Aujourd’hui en France, the leading daily newspaper for the general public, highlights the importance of choosing a refurbished smartphone wisely. While the refurbished smartphone market is growing in popularity, the paper points out that the choice is not limited to price alone. It advises taking into account factors such as the battery, cosmetic and functional condition, and the warranty.
