Pink October + Team Refresher Day at Birmingham

The UK Econocom team convened at the Birmingham office last Thursday for a Team Refresher Day! The day was aimed at keeping the team’s knowledge fresh and current, encouraging collaboration, and sharing best practices.

To honour Pink October, we all wore pink along with our pink ribbon badges. Pink October is recognised across the world as the month where actions connected to breast cancer prevention and early detection take place.

Our thoughts go out to the brave people who are battling breast cancer, and we aim to raise awareness about the significance of early detection!

Cyber CleanUp Week challenge comes to an end!

The European Sustainable Development Week is now over. It’s time to take stock of our Cyber CleanUp Week.

This second edition of our Cyber CleanUp Week challenge was a great chance to reduce the environmental impact of our inboxes. It aimed to bring down by 7% the digital environmental footprint of our inboxes – this amounted to deleting ten million e-mails (the equivalent of 110 tonnes of CO)!

In the end, five million e-mails were deleted! This equates to 55 tonnes of CO, or 55 return flights from Paris to New York! Thank you and well done!

The aim was ambitious and we’d like to thank each of you for having taken part in and committed to this initiative.

Of course, you shouldn’t stop acting just because the challenge has now ended. We’re counting on you to carry on making a difference through your everyday actions.

Cyber cleanup week challenge: It’s time to delete your old emails!

In 10 days we deleted 1.5 million emails! That’s a beginning, but not enough! Let’s mobilize a little more to reach the 10 million deleted emails and reduce our digital footprint.

Don’t wait and delete your old emails, it’s easy.

A reminder to do your fall cleaning:

  • Empty your inboxes,
  • Empty out non-priority folders,
  • Delete old invitations received,
  • Delete your old emails,
  • Delete emails with large attachments and save your attachments on your computer.

 It’s up to you now!

“Cyber Cleanup Week” challenge: two weeks to reduce the environmental impact of the Econocom Group’s mailboxes

The European Sustainable Development Week has started today. As a responsible digital entrepreneur, let’s not miss this opportunity! Let’s mobilise to win the Cyber Cleanup Week challenge!

 What is Cyber Cleanup Week?

Cyber Cleanup Week is a challenge aimed at organising a digital cleanup of data and thus reducing our collective environmental impact.

In concrete terms, it’s about cleaning up our mailboxes to reach the goal of reducing our digital environmental footprint by 7%, i.e. deleting 10 million emails in two week! It’s ambitious, but perfectly achievable!  Last year we managed to delete 5 million emails in one week!

To follow our efforts live, a barometer will be accessible on Onelink.

What’s in it for us?

Firstly, a significant reduction in our digital environmental footprint!

Secondly, a result that we can be proud to reveal to our clients, our partners or our future talents and that will reinforce our leadership.

Why mobilise?

Because our daily actions – which seem to be few – strongly contribute to this crucial issue today!

Imagine: every email, every search or every video consumes energy and generates greenhouse gas emissions. On a global level, the impact of digital technology is between 2% and 4.3% of total CO2 emissions and between 5 and 10% of total electricity consumption depending on the source!

It is time to act!

Appointment of Samira Draoua as CEO of Econocom France…

Dear all,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Samira Draoua as CEO of Econocom France. In this capacity, she will oversee the three business lines of Econocom France (TMF, Services, P&S) and its satellites, strengthening their synergies – in line with the ambitions of our One Digital Company strategy.

Samira Draoua will join the Group Coordination Committee (CDC).

In ten years at Econocom, Samira has always delivered a high level of performance, innovation and development.

She has consistently overachieved in her various missions.

Internationally, she has grown the ATOS account from €13 to €150 million a year, opening up Asia to Econocom and strengthening our position in the USA.

The creation of a joint venture with ATOS established a disruptive model in the leasing market.

TMF’s transformation plan enabled us to achieve a 14% growth rate.

The acquisition and restructuring of Les Abeilles International and signing a €120 million contract with the French Navy.

Samira is also a creative leader who opened our group to an industrial line of business, through the acquisition of SOFI Groupe. This put us on the market for the reconditioning of mobiles and IT equipment.

Samira succeeds thanks to the team of professionals she surrounds herself with.

In addition to her new duties, Samira will retain her responsibilities as Chairwoman of Les Abeilles International. The launch of two new ships this summer made us all proud.

Samira has my full trust in her efforts to advance Econocom’s ambitions.

Regards,

Jean-Louis Bouchard

Chairman

Econocom datacenters shutdown on 21/05

Dear all,

We are continuing to strengthen the protection of the Econocom group’s information system.

This leads us to carry out an operation to update our main equipment in our Datacenters, which imposes their complete shutdown and leads to the unavailability of the application environments they support.

This exceptional operation is scheduled for Saturday 21/05 all morning (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.). No environment will therefore be accessible during this period.

We have planned an IT/business system on-call to ensure that the base of equipment and applications is properly restarted, so that everything is tested and operational as soon as this operation is finished.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the servicedesk +33 1 481 79 481.
