London Kickoff with Angel Benguigui

Last Tuesday, our Econocom UK & IRL, Econocom US & CAN and Trams l Econocom teams met for our first joint annual kick-off event in London. We were joined by members of Group including our Group Executive Managing Director; Angel Benguigui.

Attendees were given by Angel Benguigui an insight into Group’s strategic plans for the future, financials and shared client success stories.

The meeting was followed by an awards ceremony to recognise our dedicated employees’ hard work and the evening finished with a light-hearted singing contest allowing the teams to demonstrate their vocal talent… or lack of!

The latest update on the performance of our TMF sales newcomers

We are pleased to share the new edition at the end of March on the TMF salesforce recruitment plan progress. As in the precedent edition, we would like to praise the performance of our new joiners.

This month, our top performers are Jan Braunert (extending his lead thanks to a 3-year tender signature with a total value of €30M – more details to come), Mickael Bouaziz (maintaining his second position) and Daniel Jonski (reaching third position). We can also pay tribute to the great performance of Andrea Selloni and Fernando Matador, getting close to the podium.

See you soon for a new edition with the figures at the end of April, and to find out who will be standing on the top of the podium next!

Shepherd’s Star Table of Hope: pursuing our efforts to fight against social exclusion

On March 29th, Econocom UK and Trams l Econocom sponsored another Table of Hope from Shepherd’s Star, a local charity fighting against social exclusion.

We were delighted to join and witness the charity’s progress and achievement in such beautiful surrounds: not only the stunning venue of Bingham Riverhouse but also their supportive community!

Shepherd’s Star Table of Hope: celebrating love and friendship around a communal meal

In July 2021, the charity launched a “Table of Hope” initiative, which aims to organise monthly communal meals for socially excluded people.

The latest Table of Hope, sponsored by Econocom UK and Trams l Econocom, took place on February 17th at the ETNA Community Centre in Twickenham. Dedicated volunteers, including Econocom staff, came to cook and serve hot and nourishing meals to people in need, while celebrating love and friendship around the Valentine’s theme.

Next Shepherd’s Star’s communal meal, also sponsored by Econocom UK and Trams l Econocom, will take place on March 29th at the Bingham Riverhouse Hotel.

Getting fit for the good cause

Have you ever wondered if it was possible to get fit and make a difference to people in need? Well, it is!

On January 19th 2022, Econocom UK and Trams l Econocom enjoyed an intense ‘rumble’ workout at 1Rebel UK to raise funds for Shepherd’s Star, a local charity which operates in Greater Richmond and Twickenham Borough.

Hundreds of pounds were collected to help the charity organise their next ‘Table of Hope’ in February, which aims to gather every month socially excluded people around a communal table. The heart behind the initiative is to build friendships, reduce social isolation and enhance wellbeing.

Econocom UK supports local charities following office move

“Recycling” is a fundamental principle of a good environmental policy, and furniture that can still be used should still be used. Why throw it away when it can serve small organisations down the road?

When moving office from Richmond to Mayfair, Econocom UK was looking to recycle IT equipment and office furniture by donating to charities.

With the help of Be Richmond, a non-profit organisation supporting the Richmond community, good condition but redundant items were distributed to two local charities: Habitats & Heritage, an association based in south and west London which cares for the natural and historic environment, and Shepherd’s Star which operates in Greater Richmond and Twickenham Borough addressing poverty, hardship and social exclusion.

Redundant monitors and Econocom branded laptop bags were donated to Habitats & Heritage to help improve their team’s efficiency. The laptop bags went to new staff members, allowing them to easily transport laptops and work remotely. Those new members were hired through the UK Government “Kickstart Scheme”, which provides funding to employers willing to create new jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment. The programme aims to support those young people by developing their employability skills.

Other furnishings including desks, cabinets, chairs, indoor plants, one monitor and additional laptop bags, were donated to Shepherd’s Star. The bags were used as welcome packs to people participating in the charity’s “Discover Horticulture” programme at Kew Gardens.

The rest of the furniture is currently stored at the Richmond Furniture Scheme, another local charity that helps provide furniture to those in need, and will be installed once Shepherd’s Star moves into their first premises.

As a responsible digital company, Econocom will continue to partner with UK organisations to decrease landfill and support the local community.

UK Town Hall Meeting with Jean-Louis Bouchard and Angel Benguigui

On Thursday 7th October 2021, Econocom and Trams gathered for their first joint Town Hall meeting at Hotel Café Royal in London. They were honoured by the presence of Jean-Louis Bouchard, Econocom Chairman, Angel Benguigui, Group Managing Director, and David Molins, Group Communications Director.

The event was the perfect opportunity to meet each other properly, discuss future plans for Trams l Econocom and raise a glass to this exciting new adventure.

The meeting began with a welcome speech by Frances Weston, Managing Director at Econocom North America, UK & IRL, and was followed by an inspiring Q&A session with Jean-Louis Bouchard, Angel Benguigui and David Molins.

When asked about the secret of his company’s success, Jean-Louis Bouchard described himself as honest and audacious, making difficult decisions when needed. He strongly encouraged Trams l Econocom employees to ‘have fun’ whilst pursuing their ideas with courage, and ended his speech with a quote from Winston Churchill: “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

An interview between Angel Benguigui, Frances Weston, Warren Peel – Managing Director at Trams – and James Goulding – Editorial Director of Technology Reseller (a leading UK magazine for the reseller community) – also took place to discuss the Trams integration and exciting development plans in the UK and international markets.

The meeting ended on a high note with a private drinks reception for all employees.

Corporate Social Responsibility and digital responsibility: 4 questions to Véronique di Benedetto

As we celebrate the European Sustainable Development Week, we met with Véronique di Benedetto, Vice President France, to discuss our CSR positioning as a Responsible Digital Entrepreneur

This week is going to be full of actions around CSR and responsible digital with the Cyber cleanup week, a new challenge with an ambitious collective objective of reducing our digital environmental footprint by 5% (10M emails) at the group level.

We are committed to CSR. But what does this mean in concrete terms and on a daily basis for our external audiences?

And internally?

At Econocom, we have reduced our carbon footprint by 49.70% over the last three years. Our responsibility takes shape at all levels, here are a few examples:

  • Disability (signing of a new agreement, rate of over 4%)
  • QWL
  • Diversity (diversity charter, women in digital, etc.)
  • Buildings and car fleet

What are our next challenges?

The challenges ahead are huge and we need to accelerate further. For example, we are going to include the impact of our entire business on our carbon footprint. It will be a real challenge to measure and reduce this impact little by little, without affecting our business.

We are also keen to intensify our commitment to the fight against the digital divide and to work closely with many associations working in this area.

There are many exciting projects to come in the months and years ahead!

[SAVE THE DATE] Sustainable Development Week from 20 to 24 September!

As a responsible digital entrepreneur, Econocom is taking part to the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW). This week will allow us to raise CSR awareness and to provide the means to take concrete action on a daily basis.

On the programme next week:

  • A training session to understand the CSR challenges, the circular economy and digital sobriety.
  • A collection of unused electronic devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets) in partnership with Emmaus Connect and the ARES group will be organised at the Puteaux, Le Plessis Robinson, Grenoble and Villeurbanne sites. The aim of this initiative is to offer employees the opportunity to make a donation and help reduce the digital divide.
  • Advice, ideas, easy actions to implement in your everyday life at the office!

Stay tuned!
