Cyber cleanup week challenge: we still need you!

In 5 days we deleted 3.2 million emails! That’s the equivalent of 35 tons of CO2 or 35 trips from Paris to NYC! That’s good, but not enough! Let’s mobilise a little more to reach the 10 million deleted emails!

Cleaning up your mailbox is a daily habit. Get started!

Start by doing a major clean-up:

  • Empty your inboxes
  • Empty out non-priority folders
  • Delete old invitations received
  • Delete your old emails
  • Delete emails with large attachments and save your attachments on your computer

And on a daily basis :

  • Avoid copying everyone on your emails
  • Share your documents using Teams
  • Send links to large files
  • Remove images from signatures when replying to an email

“Cyber Cleanup Week” challenge: a week to reduce the environmental impact of the Econocom Group’s mailboxes

|

The European Sustainable Development Week starts today. As a responsible digital entrepreneur, let’s not miss this opportunity! Let’s mobilize to win the Cyber Cleanup Week challenge!

What is Cyber Cleanup Week?

Cyber Cleanup Week is a challenge aimed at organising a digital cleanup of data and thus reducing our collective environmental impact.

To follow our efforts live, a barometer will be accessible on the Onelink homepage.

What’s in it for us?

Firstly, a significant reduction in our digital environmental footprint!

Thirdly, a result that we can be proud to reveal to our clients, our partners or our future talents and that will reinforce our leadership.

Why mobilise?

Imagine: every email, every search or every video consumes energy and generates greenhouse gas emissions. On a global level, the impact of digital technology is between 2% and 4.3% of total CO2 emissions and between 5 and 10% of total electricity consumption depending on the source!

It is time to act!

These new procedures are effective from 1 July 2021. They apply to all group entities, including satellites.

The new rules are detailed in the procedures and encourage more transparency.  This is particularly the case for gifts and invitations, which must now all be declared to the N+1 (or for external employees to the reference contact person) and are subject to prior approval above €150 excluding VAT.

The validation/approval matrices and rules to be respected are detailed in the procedures.
