At Econocom, the success of our One Econocom vision is built on bold, cross-functional initiatives. At its core lies One Portfolio, a framework that aligns our internal efforts and strengthens our position as a high-performing partner for our clients. But how does this tool come to life within our teams? To answer this question, Mario Romero, Senior Manager Business Development Support and one of the projectâs key architects, shares his experience and insights in the following interview.
Econocom Stories : Mario Romero, you are one of the main architects behind the One Portfolio project at Econocom. Could you explain what One Portfolio is and why itâs so important?

Mario Romero : One Portfolio is far more than a document or a set of tools. It is a true catalyst for transformation at Econocom. Internally, it enhances collaboration among our teams and strengthens our sense of unity. Externally, it structures our proposals in a clear and compelling way, offering solutions that are tailored to our clientsâ needs.
Econocom Stories : How does this framework transform your day-to-day activities in concrete terms?
Mario Romero : The main idea behind One Portfolio was to break down organizational silos and build a common language. Now, we have a clear framework that enables us to present a coherent image of who we are and what we offer. Itâs also an incredibly versatile and scalable tool. Itâs used for training our sales teams, creating impactful client presentations, and even designing customized solutions.
Each team can adapt it to its specific needs while adhering to the overarching framework weâve established. This level of flexibility and consistency is crucial to supporting our commercial strategy and addressing the diverse expectations of our clients.
Econocom Stories : The project sounds ambitious. What are the key elements in its implementation?
Mario Romero : Two key priorities stand out: localization and training. To ensure the success of One Portfolio, it was critical to account for local specifics. This, of course, involves translation, but more importantly, adapting solutions to the realities of each market. Our approach was never to impose a rigid model but to provide a common foundation that each country can enrich according to its needs.
Training also plays a pivotal role. While One Portfolio was designed with input from over 60 contributors, its adoption impacts more than 1,000 people in strategic roles, such as sales, pre-sales, delivery, and finance.
Econocom Stories : You launched a pilot project in Spain. Why this choice, and what results have you seen?
Mario Romero : Spain was chosen as the pilot market because it represents a dynamic and diverse market, ideal for testing and refining our approaches. So far, more than 200 employees have been trained, and a dedicated team of 30 people is actively experimenting with new processes and roles.
Local governance, led by Carlos PĂ©rez-Herce, ensures oversight tailored to the Spanish market’s specifics. Simultaneously, a community of Solution Owners works on adapting solutions to ensure they fully meet local needs.
Econocom Stories : What do you see as the long-term strategic stakes of One Portfolio for Econocom?
Mario Romero : Beyond the tools, One Portfolio is above all a human and strategic project. It represents a way of working together, aligning our efforts around shared values, and positioning ourselves as trusted partners for our clients.
Every employee now has the tools to contribute to this collective transformation. Itâs a project that brings us together, highlights our expertise, and drives us to surpass ourselves, together.
Econocom Stories : Any final thoughts to share?
Mario Romero : Yes, Iâd like to emphasize that the success of One Portfolio relies on collective commitment. Each of us plays a key role in this journey. This project reflects our vision for Econocomâs future: unity, performance, and positive impact, both for our employees and our clients.
Econocom Stories : Thank you very much for this interview, Mario.
Mario Romero : With pleasure, thank you!
